Support Engineer, SAP FICO

Location: Remote from Malaysia; home-based virtual office. The role supports a 24x7x365 organization and requires flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Short-term travel for assignments may be required.

What you will do

• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve complex SAP Finance and Controlling issues for global clients.
• Support SAP FICO and S/4HANA Financials, including New GL, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Asset Accounting.
• Use ABAP debugging, tracing, scripts, and proprietary tools to diagnose and correct application and data issues.
• Develop, test, package, and deliver break fixes for critical product defects.
• Advise assigned accounts on customizations, implementations, integrations, and best practices.
• Collaborate in a virtual support team and improve knowledge-sharing methods, diagnostic tools, and support processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant SAP experience, particularly with SAP FICO, and 6+ years supporting application end users in a corporate environment.
• Expertise in SAP ECC or S/4HANA Finance core modules, including New GL, AR, AP, and AA; mandatory experience as an S/4HANA Finance consultant.
• Technical-functional knowledge of S/4HANA Finance, Universal Journal, SAP configuration, integrations, maintenance, patching mechanics, and SAP architecture.
• ABAP development skills for debugging and tracing, with strong SAP toolset and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service, communication, presentation, and independent working skills.
• Business-level fluency in English is required. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FI localization, country-specific solutions, localizations, and global implementations.
• S/4HANA Management Accounting, ABAP optimization, Cash Management, Group Reporting, Treasury, or other FI modules.
• SAP certifications, consulting experience, and experience with SAP implementations, rollouts, or application support.
• Mandarin language skills.
