Location: Onsite in Pavia, Italy (5 days per week)

Salary: €40,500 – €54,000 per annum

What you will do

• Support internal and external teams on system-level debugging and silicon characterization.
• Evaluate and debug features in PHY, develop driver firmware, and resolve production issues for Ethernet and PCIe products.
• Provide direct technical support to top-tier customers, reviewing designs and tuning performance to meet requirements.
• Develop and execute bench-level validation test plans using Python, VBA, and MATLAB.
• Act as the primary technical interface between the company and its customers.
• Qualify design activity at the customer engineering level and help define new products and niche opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or a related field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in application engineering or a related occupation.
• Strong fundamentals in communication, transmission lines, EM, and microwave theories.
• Proficiency in test script generation using Python, VBA, or MATLAB.
• Experience debugging with equipment such as Oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, and Logic Analyzers.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) required.

Nice to have

• Experience with BERT or AWG bench analysis.
• Experience performing 5G, 10G, 25G NRZ, and 53G PAM-4 Transmitter Compliance tests.
• Experience performing electrical compliance testing for PCIe Gen4/5.
• Knowledge of high-speed SerDes Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and system application.
