Salary: $184,000 - $202,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits

Company

hirify.global develops and operates LEO satellite constellations for mission-critical remote sensing data.

What you will do

  • Own development of visible and thermal infrared camera subsystems: generate technical specifications and ICDs, manage vendors, characterize performance, and perform failure mode and root cause analysis.
  • Define camera test requirements, pass/fail criteria, and test strategies in partnership with hardware and test engineering teams.
  • Define parameters for environmental qualification campaigns, including radiation testing and thermal environmental stress screening (ESS), and review test data as the technical authority on subsystem health.
  • Support subsystem and instrument-level testing, including vibration, thermal-vacuum (TVAC), and system characterization/V&V.
  • Improve instrument development best practices, processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with instrument and spacecraft systems engineers, data scientists, AI&T, production teams, and program managers.

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in an engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a multi-disciplinary environment with demonstrated experience in imaging systems and infrared remote sensing instruments.
  • Software skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C++).
  • Experience with precision optical and mechanical metrology equipment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis using data analysis and testing.
  • Experience performing data analysis, post-processing, and test report generation for optical component and camera system performance.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to design and analysis of optical components and systems.
  • Experience with risk management (risk tracking and mitigation plan development/implementation).
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Equity compensation plus medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401k retirement plan, life insurance, and disability coverage.
  • Three weeks paid vacation for new employees, 12 paid holidays, unlimited sick time, and paid parental leave.
  • Employee development program.
  • Mission-driven, diverse, and dynamic workplace with equal employment opportunity.

Hiring process
