TL;DR

Manager, Process Engineering (NPI): Leading a team of manufacturing engineers to design, develop, and transfer new medical device products into production with an accent on process capability, DFM, and quality system compliance. Focus on driving continuous improvement, managing technical reviews, and ensuring robust manufacturing processes for orthopedic implants.

Location: Must be based in Austin, Texas (Onsite). Applicants must have full-time work authorization in the United States without sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Lead and coach a team of NPI Manufacturing Engineers and technicians through new product launches.
  • Serve as the primary process and manufacturing expert on cross-functional development teams.
  • Design and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, and automation solutions.
  • Ensure all technical documentation, including BOMs, routers, and FMEAs, meets quality system requirements.
  • Execute validation protocols and reports for new manufacturing processes.
  • Drive process improvements using Lean methodologies and participate in Kaizen events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, BSME, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in process or manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing an engineering team.
  • Proficiency with Measurement Systems (CMM, Vision Inspection, Profilometers) and GD&T.
  • Must have full-time work authorization in the United States (no sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

  • Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing.
  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, MasterCAM, and Minitab.
  • Expertise in 6 Sigma, DMAIC, and additive manufacturing.
