TL;DR

Director of Software Engineering (AI): Leading the engineering organization to oversee core technology platforms, data visualization tools, and APIs with an accent on AI integration and platform scalability. Focus on architecting robust solutions, managing global distributed teams, and aligning technical strategy with business objectives.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the Menara Skymind office in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia (Hybrid: 3 days/week in-office)

What you will do

  • Define and execute software engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead AI initiatives to enhance research delivery, data analytics, and customer-facing capabilities.
  • Oversee development of the Omdia Customer Platform, APIs, and data visualization tools.
  • Manage AWS cloud infrastructure and Sitecore CMS for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, managing both internal and outsourced resources.
  • Establish KPIs to measure team performance, platform reliability, and delivery velocity.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading engineering teams.
  • Proven track record in B2B technology, SaaS, or data analytics.
  • Demonstrated success implementing AI/ML initiatives in production.
  • Experience managing both internal teams and outsourced development resources.
  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture, microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Experience with Sitecore CMS and Salesforce/Marketo integrations.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and roll out AI-assisted development tools.
