What you will do

• Work fluidly across UX research, visual design, and frontend engineering to build core product surfaces.
• Develop interactive prototypes to test complex workflows and replace long debate cycles with clickable solutions.
• Maintain and evolve design systems with a focus on layout, motion, and visual polish.
• Implement pixel-perfect interfaces using TypeScript, CSS, and React.
• Collaborate with scientists, designers, and engineers to translate complex biological data into understandable tools.
• Hold a high bar for product quality, focusing on transitions, states, and edge cases in data-heavy views.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Amsterdam or Zurich.
• Strong design taste with a portfolio demonstrating shipped product work.
• Expertise in modern frontend technologies including TypeScript, CSS, and React.
• Experience creating and maintaining design systems.
• Ability to move from ambiguous problems to testable prototypes quickly.
• Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in product design or frontend engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience designing expert tooling for practitioner audiences (e.g., IDEs, creative software).
• Experience designing data-dense interfaces like charts, tables, and quantitative displays.
• Background in biotech, research tools, or developer tooling.
