Senior Data Scientist (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Senior Data Scientist (ML/Stats): Developing predictive and statistical models to optimize large-scale User Acquisition for mobile games with an accent on long-term forecasting and uncertainty quantification. Focus on translating research ideas into production systems and solving high-impact business problems through collaborative modeling.

Location: Hybrid in Helsinki Metropolitan Area (Espoo). Must be able to work from the office 2-3 days per week.

What you will do

• Develop predictive and statistical models to support large-scale User Acquisition decisions.
• Solve complex problems involving long-term forecasting, optimization, and rare-event behavior.
• Translate research ideas into production systems and evaluate new modeling approaches.
• Collaborate with UA managers, game teams, finance, and engineers to solve high-impact business problems.
• Own models through their entire lifecycle, from formulation and experimentation to deployment and monitoring.
• Contribute to a collaborative modeling culture through pair coding, code reviews, and open workshops.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in data science.
• Academic degree in applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, computer science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and its numerical and data science libraries.
• Experience designing data pipelines in cloud-based environments.
• Strong understanding of at least two areas: Bayesian modeling, Statistical inference, ML, Optimization, or Uncertainty quantification.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in mobile gaming, User Acquisition, or digital advertising.
• Knowledge of experimentation, causal inference, or reinforcement learning.
• Experience building large-scale production ML systems.
