What you will do

• Design and optimize consensus mechanisms to enhance the throughput and stability of the Solana network.
• Refine algorithms to ensure fair and efficient agreement on block production among validators.
• Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities within the consensus layer to protect against emerging threats.
• Improve the scalability of the consensus system to handle increasing transaction volumes.
• Create and execute comprehensive stress tests, fault injection, and performance benchmarking.
• Collaborate with core protocol engineers and security experts to ensure seamless component integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with core infrastructure software and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Rust or C++.
• Experience with consensus algorithms and blockchain technology.
• Knowledge of common security threats and best practices for securing consensus processes.
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Linux, systems automation tools, and systems architecture.
• Deep understanding of networking and the principles underlying distributed systems.
• Ability to design secure protocols and algorithms that minimize trust requirements.
