Machine Learning Engineer (Large Language Models)

Compensation: USD 30–60 per hour

What you will do

• Adapt large language models to diverse healthcare use cases using SFT, PEFT, DPO, PPO, and prompt engineering.
• Optimize LLMs for retrieval-augmented generation to improve decision-making and information retrieval.
• Collect, clean, and refine healthcare datasets for LLM training.
• Convert models into production-ready formats for real-world deployment.
• Collaborate with software engineering, data science, and medical professionals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade deep learning solutions.
• Academic degree in computer science, data science, or a related field; an M.Sc. or Ph.D. is strongly preferred.
• Expertise with model-tuning frameworks such as Axolotl.
• Familiarity with model-serving frameworks including vLLM, TGI, and llama-cpp.
• Knowledge of model quantization techniques and frameworks for resource-constrained environments.
• Hands-on experience with Transformer architectures and PyTorch.

Nice to have

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree.
• Recent LLM engineering experience across healthcare or life science applications.
