What you will do

• Review and interpret medical information and physician treatment plans to determine appropriate ICD-10 CM/CPT codes.
• Abstract data elements to satisfy statistical requests by the hospital and health system.
• Manage medical information and optimize cash flow pertaining to the unbilled coding report.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10 CM/CPT guidelines through continuous training and resource review.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of coding courses in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• 1 year of experience in Hospital and/or Physician Coding.
• 1 year of experience coding major surgeries, observations, and/or E/Ms.
• Certification: RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CPC-A required.
