What you will do

• Review and interpret medical information, physician treatment plans, and outcomes to determine appropriate ICD codes.
• Abstract medical and demographic data elements to satisfy statistical requests for the hospital and health system.
• Manage the unbilled coding report to ensure efficient cash flow and information management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD guidelines by attending training and reviewing coding clinics.

Requirements

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) OR Certified In-patient Professional Coder (CIC) is REQUIRED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital coding.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of coding courses in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Must be located in Pennsylvania.

Nice to have

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
