Semiconductor Design Engineer (Analog Layout): Leading the physical layout and verification of complex analog and mixed-signal ASICs in advanced FinFET technologies with an accent on manufacturability and performance. Focus on optimizing layout solutions for power, area, and reliability while ensuring first-pass silicon success through rigorous DRC and LVS sign-off.
Location: Alajuela, Costa Rica. Must be local to the position location; relocation and visa sponsorship are not provided.

What you will do
- Lead layout design and integration of complex analog and mixed-signal ASIC blocks using Cadence Virtuoso.
- Develop floorplans, placement, and routing strategies for advanced-node technologies, including FinFET.
- Partner with circuit designers to optimize layout solutions for performance, power, area, and reliability.
- Perform and sign off on DRC, LVS, ERC, and parasitic extraction to support first-pass silicon success.
- Support the layout of high-speed and precision analog circuits, including ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and SerDes-adjacent blocks.
- Mentor junior layout engineers and contribute to the development of design guidelines and best practices.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in analog or mixed-signal IC layout.
- Expertise in advanced FinFET process technologies and TSMC technology platforms.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso.
- Experience laying out complex analog blocks such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and bias circuits.
- Must be based in Costa Rica; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or relocation.
