TL;DR
Sr. Robotics Applications Engineer (Robotics): Developing and implementing advanced robotic process technologies for automotive manufacturing with an accent on automation execution and technical standardization. Focus on troubleshooting robotic systems, validating new vision applications, and integrating Fanuc robotics into plant environments.
Location: Hybrid (Warren, Michigan); reporting to the office at least 3 times a week is required.

What you will do
- Support robotics execution teams across manufacturing centers and plants, providing on-site and remote troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Lead the development and validation of new robotics and vision applications, including cutting, joining, and handling technologies.
- Partner with global standards and research teams to improve robotics standards and drive common execution across programs.
- Create and maintain robotics execution processes and procedures while performing layered audits for compliance.
- Mentor new hires and students and support the technical development of suppliers.
- Evaluate NPP projects and support repair and replace strategies for robotic systems.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to relocate to Warren, Michigan (Hybrid work model).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience with Fanuc robots and programming in Fanuc TP, KAREL, C++, and Python.
- Strong technical knowledge of automation processing and application technologies (vision, dispense, welding).
- Deep understanding of robotic and automation safety standards.
- Proven track record of leading manufacturing robotics assignments with high autonomy.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of relevant experience and 2-3 years of plant assignment experience.
- Experience with ROS/ROS2 and other robot manufacturers.
- Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning.
- Familiarity with NVIDIA Isaac, Omniverse, Teamcenter, or Siemens Technomatix Process Simulate.
- Experience with AMRs, cobots, and virtual commissioning.
