What you will do

• Lead and develop the team responsible for protecting the platform and customers from fraud, abuse, scams, and financial risk.
• Own operational performance, including capacity planning, prioritization, and continuous process improvement.
• Act as the DRI for key fraud and risk initiatives, driving alignment across engineering, product, design, data, and compliance teams.
• Drive the evolution of fraud prevention capabilities, balancing automation, controls, and customer experience.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to improve risk tooling, operational workflows, and detection systems.
• Utilize data and operational insights to identify emerging fraud trends and optimize decisioning strategies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading risk, fraud, trust & safety, or operational risk functions in fintech, crypto, or payments.
• Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, including blockchain transactions, fraud vectors, and scam typologies.
• Proven experience managing and coaching high-performing operational teams in high-growth environments.
• Hands-on technical proficiency in SQL and operational data analysis.
• Experience building scalable, technology-enabled risk operations.
• Must be based in Canada.

• Quantitative background in data, statistics, or mathematics.
• Experience with machine learning applied to risk management.
• Previous experience in consumer banking.
