TL;DR
Senior Vehicle Motion Controls Integration Engineer (ADAS/AV): Integrating and validating autonomous software stacks and vehicle motion control platforms across simulation and real-time environments with an accent on model-based development and vehicle network integration. Focus on building scalable integration solutions, validating controller gateways, and executing full-vehicle testing in HiL and proving ground environments.
Location: Hybrid: Must report to Milford, Michigan at least three times per week

What you will do
- Lead AV-VMC integration across simulation, real-time, and in-vehicle environments using MATLAB/Simulink and dSPACE.
- Develop and validate wrapper models for I/O, gateways, and plant interfaces for current and future vehicle programs.
- Configure vehicle network communications (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and implement controller gateways for actuators and ADAS controllers.
- Perform signal-level verification and end-to-end validation of controller interfaces, focusing on latency, integrity, and fault handling.
- Execute vehicle, HiL, and simulation-based validation, including root-cause analysis and regression testing.
- Prepare systems for winter testing and support Milford Proving Ground integration and technical demonstrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle controls, embedded systems integration, or ADAS/AV development.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE (Scalexio, ControlDesk), and vehicle dynamics tools like CarSim.
- Deep knowledge of automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and experience modifying ARXML files.
- Proficiency in Python, Embedded C, and C++ for tooling and software implementation.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel (<25%) for vehicle testing and winter test activities.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
- 8+ years of professional experience in automotive development.
- Experience with instrumentation tools such as OXTS, Kistler, Intrepid neoVI, INCA, Vehicle Spy, or CANalyzer.
- Experience mentoring other engineers and driving technical execution in fast-paced environments.
