What you will do

• Develop and deploy population-scale foundation models for electronic health records using real-world patient data.
• Build AI systems to model disease trajectories, predict healthcare outcomes, and estimate costs.
• Integrate multimodal data, including genetics and omics, to enhance model interpretability.
• Perform causal and counterfactual analysis to enable "what-if" healthcare scenarios.
• Publish research in leading journals and collaborate with international scientific partners.

Requirements

• PhD in machine learning, computational biology, statistical genetics, biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong publication record in leading biomedical journals or machine learning conferences.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with HPC or cloud computing environments.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Milan, Italy.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale health data and biobanks (e.g., UK Biobank, All of Us).
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Proven contributions to international consortia in machine learning or human genetics.
