What you will do

• Apply data science methods to high-impact questions across D2C payments, subscriptions, and player experience.
• Design and interpret A/B tests, holdouts, and quasi-experimental analyses to drive decision-making.
• Analyze payment outcomes, including authorization performance, funnel behavior, and routing efficiency.
• Develop statistical and ML models for forecasting, segmentation, propensity, and retention.
• Use SQL and Python to create reproducible analytical workflows and validate data assumptions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and finance teams to deliver actionable insights.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data science or machine learning.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, CS, Math, Engineering, or similar).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction and modeling.
• Solid foundation in statistics, experimental design, and predictive modeling.
• Experience applying data science to commercial, payment, or subscription problems.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Diego, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, gaming, digital commerce, or scaled consumer tech.
• Knowledge of payment telemetry, routing/retry strategies, or subscription recovery.
• Experience with causal inference methods or complex quasi-experimental approaches.
• Proficiency with large-scale data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, or BigQuery.
