Senior Engineer I (Android)

Salary: $160,000 – $170,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and ship Android features for community and social surfaces from technical planning through delivery.
• Partner with server engineers on shared implementations to ensure solutions work well across the entire stack.
• Collaborate with PMs and designers to shape feature scope, identify trade-offs, and advocate for sound technical approaches.
• Contribute to code reviews to maintain and raise the technical bar for the engineering team.
• Deliver medium-to-large scope projects accurately and on time with minimal oversight.
• Mentor junior engineers to grow your leadership presence within the team.

Requirements

• Solid Android engineering fundamentals, including Kotlin, Jetpack, and modern Android architecture patterns.
• Product mindset with the ability to engage as a partner with PMs and designers.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with backend engineers.
• Ability to assess technical trade-offs and advocate for solutions that benefit both users and the codebase.
• Proven track record of delivering features end-to-end with high ownership.
• Location: Must be based in Denver, CO to support the hybrid work model.

Nice to have

• Experience with social or community features such as feeds, groups, challenges, and notifications.
• Prior experience working on a large-scale consumer Android application.
• Familiarity with Android performance optimization at scale.
