Scientific Data Architect (AI/Life Sciences): Designing and implementing extensible data models and AI/ML-driven use cases for biopharma R&D with an accent on scientific data industrialization and workflow optimization. Focus on building reusable data architectures, developing Python-based parsers, and integrating lab software via APIs to accelerate scientific discovery.

Location: Hybrid (Waltham, MA). Must be based in the Waltham Region to engage onsite 3-4 days per week. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

What you will do

• Engage directly with customers onsite to understand scientific data challenges and accelerate solutions.
• Design and implement extensible, reusable data models (tabular and JSON) to organize scientific data.
• Develop Python-based parsers and integrate lab software (ELN/LIMS) via APIs.
• Build data visualizations and applications using Python frameworks like Streamlit, Holoviews, and Plotly.
• Collaborate with applied AI engineers and scientific stakeholders to deploy ML, AI, and statistical models.
• Work with the product team to prioritize the roadmap based on customer pain points.

Requirements

• PhD with 5+ years or Masters with 7+ years of industry experience in life sciences (drug discovery, preclinical development, CMC, or quality testing).
• Proven track record of implementing productized AI/ML-driven use cases in cloud environments.
• Experience in exploratory data analysis and scientific workflow optimization.
• Ability to communicate complex technical and scientific concepts to executive stakeholders.
• Expertise in programmatically interrogating proprietary instrument output files.
