Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (Kubernetes): Building and operating a group-wide cloud-native platform with an accent on multi-cluster Kubernetes management, GitOps automation, and developer experience. Location: Must be based in Austria (with 30 days/year remote work from any EU country allowed).

Salary: Starting at €60,000 gross p.a.

What you will do

• Build and operate a modern multi-cluster and multi-cloud Kubernetes platform on AWS, Azure, and EU Cloud.
• Design and automate GitOps deployment pipelines using ArgoCD and Kargo.
• Extend platform capabilities with Crossplane compositions and custom APIs.
• Implement progressive delivery, service mesh (Istio), and policy enforcement (Kyverno).
• Utilize AI assistants to accelerate engineering workflows and infrastructure automation.
• Provide platform expertise and SRE support to ensure stable, secure, and observable environments.

Requirements

• Must be based in Austria for the primary work arrangement.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure patterns.
• Experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Crossplane, Terraform).
• Coding proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
• Strong security mindset regarding identity management and policy enforcement.

Nice to have

• Experience operating platforms for regulated or high-availability environments.
• Background in building internal developer platforms or self-service tooling.
• Agile/DevOps mindset and experience in cross-functional teams.
