What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded C++ software for real-time, mission-critical systems.
• Develop and integrate low-level software components and system interfaces.
• Support unit, integration, and system-level testing for deterministic and reliable behaviour.
• Collaborate with systems, electronics, and test engineers to integrate software into complex platforms.
• Produce clear, traceable technical documentation for regulated engineering environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in embedded software engineering.
• Strong embedded C++ experience, including C++11/14/17 or later.
• Background delivering software in defence, safety-critical, or regulated environments.
• Understanding of real-time software constraints, deterministic behaviour, verification, validation, and requirements traceability.
• Experience with configuration management, development lifecycle tooling, debugging, and complex-system problem solving.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical military experience; eligibility for UK SC security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DO-178 or equivalent safety-critical standards.
• Experience with Ada, MISRA C/C++, secure coding, automated testing, static analysis, or CI/CD pipelines.
