FSSC Auditor (Food Safety)

Location: Monterey, Mexico; home-based position with extensive travel throughout North America and occasional overseas travel

What you will do

• Perform business assurance assessments against FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 management system standards.
• Recommend certification, deferral, suspension, or withdrawal decisions based on assessment results.
• Conduct system-level and process-level audits across food-chain organizations.
• Produce accurate, insightful assessment reports for clients.
• Build effective relationships with external and internal clients.
• Travel extensively throughout North America and occasionally overseas as required.

Requirements

• GFSI standard auditor certification, such as FSSC, SQF, BRC, or IFS.
• Substantial third-party auditing or assessment experience with FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001.
• At least five years of full-time experience in the food-chain-related industry, including at least two years in quality assurance or food safety functions.
• Experience with a broad range of food products, including confectionery, dry and wet pet food, beverages, and other food products.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, including microbiology, chemistry, or food science.
• Strong written and verbal communication, professional presentation, flexibility, Microsoft Office competency, and a commitment to health and safety.
