What you will do

• Maintain a constant on-site presence to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate hazards during construction and commissioning.
• Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for contractors and project teams on assigned projects.
• Conduct daily site walks, inspections, and safety observations across multiple active work fronts.
• Audit pre-task risk assessments (JHAs/RA/MS) and lead contractor onboarding and toolbox talks.
• Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, confined space entry, hot work, and LOTO.
• Lead incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and root cause analysis to identify systemic risks.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2-5+ years of experience in a construction/project EHS role, ideally within biopharma or regulated industrial environments.
• Must be located in or able to work onsite in Cork, Ireland.
• Strong knowledge of high-risk construction activities and appropriate control measures.
• Practical experience with permit-to-work systems and contractor management.
• Ability to challenge safety violations constructively and influence all levels of on-site personnel.

Nice to have

• Relevant professional certification such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
