Location: Remote or Hybrid (Must be based in Ottawa, Toronto, or Calgary, Canada)

Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 CAD

What you will do

• Own and improve the long-term technical health and scalability of the monorepo.
• Plan solution designs and release strategies in collaboration with engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Lead foundational upgrades across the stack and improve engineering standards.
• Build and maintain shared developer tooling, CI linting, and quality-of-life improvements.
• Resolve security vulnerabilities and address performance concerns as the product grows.
• Support product teams by solving cross-cutting technical issues and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.
• Experience designing maintainable systems and making pragmatic technical tradeoffs.
• Strong testing habits and an understanding of long-term maintainability.
• Comfort working on platform, infrastructure, tooling, or developer experience problems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams.
• Must be based in Canada (Ottawa, Toronto, or Calgary).

Nice to have

• Experience scaling high-scale web applications.
• Past experience working in e-commerce or health tech sectors.
• Previous work with React or GraphQL.
• Experience improving CI systems, test suites, or feature flag systems.
