What you will do

• Optimize database performance including queries, indexes, locks, and resource usage (CPU/RAM/disk).
• Carry out routine database administration, including deployment, backup, recovery, security, and monitoring.
• Design and maintain HA/DR solutions such as Always On Availability Groups and Log Shipping.
• Analyze and optimize stored procedures, functions, and triggers to resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with backend, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on shared architectural and scaling tasks.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and update systems with automatic or manual patches.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture and internals (versions 2016–2019).
• Expert-level experience in T-SQL and optimizing high-load systems.
• Proficiency in analysis of execution plans, locking, isolation levels, and deadlock analysis.
• Experience with HA/DR solutions like Always On and Log Shipping.
• Ability to troubleshoot production incidents in mission-critical environments.
• Experience with diagnostic tools such as SQL Profiler, Extended Events, or Query Store.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of MongoDB and ClickHouse.
• Experience with SQL Server 2008+, 2022, or 2025.
• Proficiency with PowerShell and the dbatools module.
• Experience with monitoring systems like Zabbix and Grafana.
• Knowledge of Windows Server administration and version control systems.
