Java Staff Engineer

TL;DR

Java Staff Engineer (Spring/Integrations): Implementing new features and maintaining hirify.global’s search and booking technology with an accent on high-performance search/booking logic and third-party API integrations. Focus on taking full ownership from design to deployment, ensuring code quality and performance, and steering architecture to keep the K4B project modular and reusable.

Location: Berlin office (expected to work from the office at least 3 days per week)

What you will do

• Optimize search and booking logic to support high demand from global corporate clients.
• Build and maintain high-performance integrations with third-party APIs (airlines, hotel, and rental car providers).
• Own designs end-to-end, from initial concept through deployment, while maintaining high code quality and performance standards.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural steering to keep the K4B project modular and reusable as hirify.global expands.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with the Spring ecosystem (Spring/Spring Boot).
• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis).
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to design and implement engineering initiatives with minimal guidance.
• Expected to work from the Berlin office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Travel domain experience, including airline distribution standards (GDS such as Amadeus/Sabre/Travelport, NDC) and integration with booking/reservation systems.
• Experience with B2B systems or identity/HR integrations (e.g., SCIM, SAML/OAuth, SSO, user provisioning/deprovisioning, Workday/Okta/Active Directory).
