Director, Expansion PMO, Data Center Planning

Location: Based in US hubs in Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Bellevue, WA. The role has a global remit and may require periodic international travel.

Base salary: $180,000–$240,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end program management for international data center expansion across EMEA, APAC, and emerging markets.
• Define market direction, prioritize site specifications, and align demand with available supply across domestic and international markets.
• Coordinate Legal, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Due Diligence teams to sequence market-entry milestones and deal reviews.
• Maintain integrated project plans, dependency maps, risk registers, and demand-to-execution visibility across Land and Lease paths.
• Manage direct reports and maintain interdependency tracking between international and domestic development pipelines.
• Run portfolio reviews, steering committees, and senior stakeholder forums while standardizing intake and pipeline processes.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in program or operations management, strategy, or deal management within data centers, technology infrastructure, or capital-intensive sectors.
• Experience managing international expansion programs across multiple geographies, including EMEA and APAC.
• Ability to build and manage complex multi-workstream pipeline and intake processes in matrixed, fast-moving organizations.
• Strong executive presence and communication skills across C-suite and execution-team audiences.
• Proficiency with Asana, Smartsheet, Airtable, or equivalent program management tools, with experience designing scalable workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is considered. Applicants must meet US export-control access requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience at a hyperscaler, cloud provider, or data center developer leading international expansion.
• Familiarity with data center site selection, land acquisition, and lease execution.
• Experience building interdependency trackers, dashboards, and executive reporting for complex portfolios.
• Advanced degree in business, real estate, infrastructure, or a related field.
• Fluency in a language relevant to EMEA or APAC markets.
