What you will do

• Translate product and business problems into clear machine learning problems with measurable success criteria.
• Build, train, evaluate, and improve production machine learning models.
• Collaborate with software and infrastructure engineers to deploy models and improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Design and analyze offline evaluations and online experiments to quantify model impact.
• Contribute to feature engineering, data preparation, training pipelines, and model monitoring.
• Write clean, maintainable, production-quality code and participate in design and code reviews.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of industry experience in machine learning, software engineering, or data science.
• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one additional language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Scala.
• Strong understanding of ML fundamentals, including model training, evaluation, and experimentation.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Palo Alto, California (3 days/week in office).

Nice to have

• Experience with recommendation systems or causal inference.
• Familiarity with big data frameworks like Spark or Flink, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience with ML serving frameworks (TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, Triton, Ray Serve) and orchestration (Airflow).
• Understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD for ML and model versioning.
• Exposure to LLM-related use cases or applied generative AI projects.
