Senior Backend Developer (Go)

Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Hamburg, Germany (Hybrid: Mon, Tue, Thu in office).

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend microservices in Go, ensuring reliable communication via event buses like Kafka and SQS/SNS.
• Optimize database queries in MySQL, Redis, and Druid to achieve millisecond response times for high-volume traffic.
• Collaborate with the Data Science team to integrate ML algorithms into the core advertising platform.
• Manage billions of daily API events and aggregate them for efficient data lake querying.
• Provide raw or aggregated data to partners through well-documented open APIs.
• Participate in peer code reviews and knowledge sharing within an international development community.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of profound experience building web applications in Go.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Must be open to relocating to Hamburg, Germany.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform), Docker, and serverless infrastructure.
• Proven ability to profile Go applications and optimize code for high-volume traffic.
