Pleasart Studios has moved beyond the prototype phase of its internal project, Whacky, and is expanding its team ahead of a planned 2027 launch. The studio is looking for experienced specialists who want to take ownership of their domain and actively contribute to the development of a growing project and company.
As a Senior Level Designer, you will shape the game's world, pacing, flow, and overall player experience while bridging the gap between systems engineering and level design.
🚀 Responsibilities
• Design interactive and non-linear environments in Unreal Engine 5
• Create engaging level layouts focused on player experience and progression
• Collaborate on integrating AI, physics, puzzles, and gameplay systems into level architecture
• Define world-building and environmental flow
• Work closely with other disciplines to support systemic gameplay
• Take ownership of level design decisions and implementation
📚 Required Skills
• 4+ years of experience in level design or world-building
• Deep understanding of Unreal Engine 5 level design and layout tools
• Experience creating non-linear environments
• Strong understanding of player flow, pacing, and environmental storytelling
• Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines
• Systems-oriented approach to design and problem solving
👍 Nice to Have
• Experience integrating AI systems into level design
• Experience working with physics-based gameplay
• Experience designing puzzle-driven environments
• Experience in early-stage game development
