Location: Hybrid (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). Must be in office at least 3 days per week.
Salary: $171,000–$273,000 per year

What you will do
- Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency logging frameworks for massively parallel data streams.
- Define smart, dynamic data collection policies for high-fidelity snapshots and intelligent downsampling.
- Evaluate and tune file systems to maximize write speeds and guarantee data integrity.
- Collaborate with systems and hardware teams to optimize storage media (NVMe, SSDs) and kernel-level I/O performance.
- Mentor senior engineers, set coding standards, and drive the long-term roadmap for on-vehicle data management.
- Provide engineering support for field testing and fleet operations.
Requirements
- Expert-level C++ programming skills for high-performance, thread-safe, and memory-efficient systems in Linux.
- Proven experience with storage technologies, block devices, and file system constraints (write endurance, throughput).
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Ability to navigate large codebases and collaborate effectively across time zones.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with performance evaluation and optimization.
- Strong programming skills in GoLang.
