What you will do

• Own database reliability, automation, and performance as the platform scales.
• Mentor the team on cloud operational and engineering best practices.
• Resolve customer environment issues, handle incidents within SLA, and conduct blameless post-mortems.
• Collaborate with product teams to improve service scalability, observability, and availability.
• Create and maintain operational runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Identify needs and build tools to automate repeated operational tasks and reduce toil.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and maintaining mission-critical production database systems in a global enterprise.
• 5+ years of experience with enterprise-scale Linux Administration and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL server architecture and RDS internals, including installation, upgrades, backup, and recovery.
• Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, or Cassandra.
• Strong systems engineering skills, including Linux performance tuning and networking (DNS, VPN).
• Experience with Java/JEE fundamentals and scripting in Python or Bash.

Nice to have

• DBA certification in Postgres or Oracle.
• AWS Certification.
• Pega Certified System Architect (CSA) Certification.
