Senior Platform Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

Senior Platform Engineer (AWS): Designing and managing scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines for an AI integration gateway with an accent on IaC migration, BYOC delivery, and developer experience. Focus on migrating AWS CDK to Terraform, optimizing monorepo CI/CD pipelines, and building robust self-hosted distribution paths for enterprise customers.

Location: Hybrid in London (~2 days/week) or Remote within the UK

What you will do

• Manage AWS infrastructure at scale (ECS Fargate, Aurora, MSK) and lead the migration from AWS CDK to Terraform.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and test tooling for a monorepo to ensure fast, incremental deployments.
• Design and implement "Bring Your Own Cloud" (BYOC) deployment modules and documentation for customers.
• Establish a versioned release and upgrade path for self-hosted customers.
• Define security guardrails and "golden paths" for new repository deployments in partnership with security engineers.
• Improve platform reliability through SLOs, observability, and incident response frameworks.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, IAM, KMS).
• Deep proficiency in Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Strong coding skills in TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Docker and production container environments.
• Must be based in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with BYOC/self-hosted distribution (e.g., Nuon, Replicated, Omnistrate).
• Multi-cloud IaC experience (GCP or Azure).
• Exposure to Temporal, Kafka/MSK, ClickHouse, or OpenSearch.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
