Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Virtual Engineering, Propulsion Systems (Automotive)

TL;DR

Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Virtual Engineering): Developing and implementing CAD, CAM, and virtual software tools for propulsion systems with an accent on model-based manufacturing simulation and emulation. Focus on creating digital twins of physical systems, optimizing manufacturing processes using Teamcenter, and driving a 100% virtual engineering vision.

Location: Hybrid (Warren, Michigan); must report to office at least 3 times a week

What you will do

• Lead virtual simulation and emulation initiatives to support digital transformation and manufacturing engineering.
• Create and improve standardized virtual engineering processes to increase efficiency in equipment sourcing and project execution.
• Develop digital twins of physical manufacturing systems in partnership with Process Engineering Leads and Machine Tool Builders.
• Evaluate and optimize manufacturing systems using Teamcenter Manufacturing Process Planner, Process Simulate, and XR tools.
• Collaborate with IT and central lead engineers to ensure consistency across propulsion programs and disciplines.
• Provide technical direction for the integration and deployment of virtual software and hardware utilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens PLM and CAD systems (preferably NX).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens Tecnomatix Process Simulate or similar platforms.
• Basic understanding of PLC and robot programming, preferably Fanuc.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and experience with business integration testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with XR technologies.
• Familiarity with GM Dual Check Safety Standards and Global Common Controls Structure.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling (NX) and CAM/CNC machining (NX CAM).
