What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end development of fraud detection ML models from ideation to production.
• Build and grow a new data science team, fostering a research-oriented and data-driven culture.
• Own model performance in production, monitoring for degradation and driving timely improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Engineering, ML Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams.
• Lead complex, cross-functional projects in a matrix work environment.
• Mentor team members to elevate the team's collective technical and research capabilities.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist.
• Strong proficiency in Python and core ML libraries like pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn.
• Solid SQL skills and experience working with large production datasets.
• Hands-on experience with feature engineering and model evaluation metrics.
• Experience working in cloud and production environments.
• Proven ability to lead in a matrix environment and drive alignment across teams.

Nice to have

• Background in fraud detection or identity verification.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as ML Studio or Data Factory.
• Experience with MLOps practices and tooling.
