Backend Engineer (Python)

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Python): Building and scaling core backend services and API integrations for a global order management platform with an accent on high-load data processing and system stability. Location: Hybrid (3 days in Ghent, Belgium or Casablanca, Morocco office, 2 days remote). Must possess the legal right to work in the country where the role is based; relocation assistance is not provided.

What you will do

• Build API integrations for leading national and global POS systems and delivery apps.
• Design algorithms for generating reports processing millions of products and orders.
• Develop core product features and implement Machine to Machine (M2M) Authorization.
• Anticipate and prevent performance problems by designing for scale.
• Mentor other developers and conduct code reviews to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with product owners and technical account managers to design effective solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience using Python in a web context (Flask, Eve).
• Strong experience building Web/REST APIs (REST, JSON-RPC, SOAP/XML).
• Knowledge of databases, specifically NoSQL (ideally MongoDB).
• Understanding of Docker or Kubernetes in a cloud environment.
• Experience with TDD approach and automated testing.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
