What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Architect secure data movement between operational systems, enterprise applications, and cloud/on-premise environments.
• Design and implement Apache Kafka-based event streaming, schemas, and integration patterns.
• Apply Open Architecture principles to ensure modular, standards-based, and interoperable data exchange.
• Partner with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with federal governance and security requirements.
• Define and maintain critical data artifacts including data dictionaries, flow diagrams, and management plans.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or systems integration.
• U.S. Citizenship required (no exceptions).
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming technologies.
• Experience managing data across both on-premise and cloud environments.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and data modeling.
• Ability to obtain and maintain federal suitability or Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with DHS, TSA, or federal national security missions.
• Knowledge of data mesh, data fabric, or microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks like NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or RMF.
• Certifications such as Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics, or TOGAF.
