What you will do

• Set and own the overall quality strategy for Firefox Mobile as a primary product outcome.
• Manage the Test Automation Engineering team to prioritize high-impact work and detect bugs earlier in the development cycle.
• Oversee observability efforts, including dashboards and automated reporting for quality regressions and crash trends.
• Lead and structure the exploratory testing program, including mentoring and teaching exploratory testing skills.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Engineering leadership to identify quality gaps and advocate for user-centric fixes.
• Manage and support a geographically distributed team of full-time engineers and contractors.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in test engineering, with 5+ years in technical management roles.
• Must be based in the UK.
• Proven experience building or transforming a testing practice using exploratory and automation approaches.
• Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative signals (crash rates, user feedback) into a clear set of priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of effective partnership with senior leadership.
• Ability to scale and grow a distributed team with diverse skills and backgrounds.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with mobile testing on Android and/or iOS.
• Familiarity with mobile automation frameworks such as XCUITest or Espresso.
• Experience working within open-source environments.
• Strong appreciation for user research and UX as inputs to quality.
