What you will do

• Own the end-to-end development lifecycle for backend platform capabilities, integrations, and product infrastructure.
• Architect and operate services, APIs, data pipelines, and storage systems to support hirify.global products at global scale.
• Collaborate with product, research, and safety teams to translate needs into effective technical solutions.
• Build systems with a focus on reliability, security, privacy, compliance, and model safety.
• Work with research teams to bring next-generation model capabilities into production experiences.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional engineering experience at technology and product-driven companies.
• Experience leading large-scale backend, platform, or infrastructure projects from ambiguity to production.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, or similar backend languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and observability.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound technical tradeoffs in a fast-moving environment.
• Must be based in San Francisco (B2B contract)

Nice to have

• Direct AI/ML experience.
• Former founder or early engineer experience building a product from scratch.
