What you will do

  • Design and develop scalable backend services using Java within an event-driven microservices architecture.
  • Lead the migration of critical functionality away from legacy monoliths to modern services.
  • Build and optimize systems for identity management, authentication, token validation, and compliance workflows.
  • Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Legal, and Security teams to deliver solutions for regulatory requirements.
  • Enhance system reliability and observability through clean architecture and automated testing.

Requirements

  • Strong backend engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Proven experience with distributed systems, microservice migrations, and scalable REST APIs.
  • Practical knowledge of Postgres and MongoDB.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
  • Must be based in or able to work in Barcelona, Spain (Hybrid model).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with modern identity or authentication systems.
