What you will do

• Oversee the collection, preparation, and processing of biological samples including blood, tissue, saliva, and DNA.
• Manage sample storage conditions and implement inventory procedures using database systems like FreezerPro and LabArchives.
• Maintain and update sample databases to ensure accuracy and compliance with research needs.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, IRB guidelines, and biorepository SOPs.
• Implement quality control procedures to meet CAP, ISO, and CLIA accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with research teams to provide expert guidance on sample availability and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory or biorepository setting.
• Strong understanding of tissue processing, cryopreservation, DNA/RNA extraction, and cell culture.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance including HIPAA, GxP, CLIA, and IRB.
• Proficiency in data analysis and database management using Excel, SPSS, or R.
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Austin, TX.

Nice to have

• Experience with LIMS, LabWare, or snowflake-based databases.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
