TL;DR

Enterprise Architect (Payments): Shaping and delivering technology strategy for large-scale payment platforms with an accent on cloud, APIs, and event-driven architectures. Location: Must be based in or able to work from Manchester, Edinburgh, or Leeds (Hybrid: 40% in office)

What you will do

  • Develop and evolve architecture within the Payments domain to support Group strategy.
  • Collaborate with Lead Architects to maintain roadmaps, patterns, and architectural guardrails.
  • Provide architectural guidance and insight to technology and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to architecture governance, ensuring solutions meet risk and strategic objectives.
  • Create architecture artefacts including designs, roadmaps, and feasibility assessments.
  • Work in cross-functional agile teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the UK with ability to work from Manchester, Edinburgh, or Leeds.
  • Experience in an architecture role contributing to strategy, solution design, and delivery.
  • Technical understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical architectural solutions.
  • Understanding of Payments within the Financial Services sector.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with an agile mindset.

Nice to have

  • Awareness of emerging technologies such as blockchain and digital assets.
  • Experience with traditional hosting environments.
