What you will do

• Build internal platform tooling and APIs for deployment, scaling, and observation with a focus on developer experience.
• Own and evolve the Kubernetes platform, ArgoCD deployment pipeline, and Terraform IaC.
• Improve platform observability to provide self-service answers for service performance and deployment failures.
• Drive the migration from Cloud Run to Kubernetes, collaborating with product teams to ensure a clean handoff.
• Design self-service workflows to minimize the operational interrupt load on the Compute team.

Requirements

• Strong SWE fundamentals with experience shipping production services and debugging distributed system failures.
• Hands-on experience operating services on Kubernetes, including debugging scheduling and writing RBAC policies.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong product instinct and a sensibility for improving developer experience (DX) in CLIs and APIs.
• Must be based in the US (implied by 401k and SF location).

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals, such as admission controllers and custom operators.
• Production experience with ArgoCD or other GitOps tooling.
• Experience with GKE or managed Kubernetes at scale.
• Proficiency in Ruby or Rails.
• Experience working in regulated or high-trust environments.
