What you will do

• Design and build high-performance, secure UI and APIs that integrate with AI-driven applications.
• Develop scalable schemas and manage diverse data systems, including SQL, NoSQL, and Vector DBs.
• Implement front-end and backend services with a focus on performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Diagnose and optimize system bottlenecks to ensure high availability and low-latency performance.
• Leverage AWS and Kubernetes to build and deploy production-grade systems at scale.
• Collaborate with ML researchers and scientists to integrate data pipelines and cloud infrastructure into scientific workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8+ years of engineering experience building and deploying large-scale production systems, with strong backend expertise.
• Full-stack proficiency in React, TypeScript, TailWind, FastAPI, SQL/NoSQL, Python, and Pydantic.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants to drive productivity.
• Proven track record of working cross-functionally with scientists, data engineers, and product teams.
• Ability to take ownership of complex backend challenges and balance scalability with performance.

Nice to have

• Experience with laboratory software for life sciences, material sciences, or related fields.
• Exposure to lab automation, robotics, or hardware drivers.
• Experience with orchestration platforms such as Airflow, Prefect, Temporal, or Dagster.
• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and CI/CD pipelines.
