Lead Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Remote (Global). Relocation to the EU, UK, or US is negotiable.

Salary: $10,000–$15,000 per month.

What you will do

• Analyze requirements from developer and SRE teams to enhance the Kubernetes platform.
• Implement custom functionality in open-source tools and manage CI/CD pipelines for image releases.
• Integrate bug fixes and customizations into upstream projects where possible.
• Test platform components and execute zero-downtime production upgrades.
• Identify and stage new platform components to improve system performance.
• Automate cluster diagnostics and assist teams with GitOps implementation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience running Kubernetes in production.
• 2+ years of Golang development experience.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes APIs, control plane, and Kubelet internals.
• Proficiency in GitOps principles and tools like Argo CD or Flux.
• Experience with Golang Kubernetes client libraries and test-driven development.
• Ability to configure monitoring with Prometheus and log aggregation with Elasticsearch or Loki.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bare Metal on-prem infrastructure.
• Knowledge of storage solutions like Rook and Ceph.
• Familiarity with Java and frameworks like Quarkus.
• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes projects.
• Experience with Helm charts and cloud providers like AWS or GCP.
