What you will do
- Produce clear and detailed design documentation for key game features.
- Prototype and iterate on level layouts using white-box techniques in 3D game engines.
- Contribute to game balancing, scripting, and data management.
- Present ideas, concepts, and features confidently to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with designers, artists, engineers, and producers across all development stages.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of the game development process from concept through ship.
- Strong portfolio showcasing design thinking and execution from brief to final result.
- Proficiency with level editors such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary engines.
- Must be based in the UK with the right to work (no visa sponsorship or relocation provided).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate ideas visually.
- Broad and deep knowledge of games across various genres and platforms.
Nice to have
- Degree in Game Design or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous work experience in a commercial game studio.
- Experience shipping a title in Unreal Engine, Unity, or a proprietary engine.
- Keen interest or background in racing games and level design.

Hiring process
- Welcome call with the Recruiter.
- Brief take-home technical task.
- Meetings with two Lead Designers.
- In-person interview with the Design Team at the Guildford studio.
