What you will do

• Develop and document the Azure reference architecture, network topology, and cybersecurity controls for the Request Management System (RMS) and Archiving Service.
• Facilitate collaborative design workshops with clients, agency stakeholders, and carrier representatives to reach final design approval.
• Produce critical deliverables including the Detailed Design, Backup & Business Continuity Plan, and project RACI.
• Lead the implementation of the Azure platform in collaboration with engineering teams and Microsoft partners.
• Maintain long-term architecture authority for the platform, overseeing design changes, carrier integrations, and the technology roadmap.
• Mentor engineering staff and contribute to the organization's broader architecture practice.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an Infrastructure or Cloud Architect designing Azure environments for regulated or government workloads in Australian regions.
• Strong working knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Essential Eight.
• Hands-on design expertise across Azure landing zones, Hub-Spoke networking, Entra ID (Conditional Access/PIM), Microsoft Sentinel, and Defender for Cloud.
• Ability to produce high-quality, detailed architecture documentation suitable for contractual acceptance.
• Australian citizenship and a current, active AGSVA NV1 security clearance are non-negotiable.
• Experience integrating cloud platforms with third-party providers via secure API and data exchange patterns.

Nice to have

• Prior experience supporting IRAP assessments.
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Bicep or Terraform.
• Microsoft certifications such as SC-100, AZ-305, or AZ-500.
• Background in telecommunications or carrier-integration projects.
