TL;DR

Location: Remote (US) or Hybrid in San Francisco, New York, or Columbus

What you will do

  • Own and evolve the API Explorer and API Designer tools used by thousands of companies.
  • Manage the OAS pipeline for parsing, validating, transforming, and rendering OpenAPI specs.
  • Define the technical roadmap and long-term vision for API-powered surfaces.
  • Make critical architectural decisions to evolve or reimagine system components.
  • Stay ahead of the API tooling landscape to integrate AI-assisted workflows and new spec versions.
  • Collaborate with product and platform teams to ship high-impact improvements.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the US (Remote or Hybrid).
  • Deep familiarity with OpenAPI / Swagger.
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript experience.
  • Experience building or working with API explorers or API clients.
  • Knowledge of OAuth, API keys, SSO, REST API design patterns, and JSON Schema validation.
  • Ability to debug real API requests including headers, payloads, and errors.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with frontend systems and React for rendering structured data.
  • Experience designing developer-facing tools.

Hiring process

  • Initial 30-minute Zoom call with the Engineering Manager.
  • Second 30-minute Zoom interview with the VP of Engineering.
  • Technical assessment conducted with hirify.global engineers.
  • Virtual "onsite" interview (3.5 to 5 hours) consisting of several one-on-one sessions.
