Developer Advocate (AI)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States; hybrid schedule with travel for events

Salary: $130K–$250K per year, based on experience

LlamaIndex builds LlamaParse, an agentic OCR and document-parsing engine that converts complex documents into structured data for AI applications.

What you will do

• Represent LlamaParse at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and workshops through speaking, live demos, and direct engagement with developers.
• Demonstrate document-parsing workflows using messy real-world files and production use cases.
• Create technical content for X, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, livestreams, video walkthroughs, and conference talks.
• Build demos and example applications using realistic, document-heavy scenarios.
• Partner with product and engineering on launches and adoption-focused content.
• Answer developer questions and bring community feedback to the team.

Requirements

• Strong presence on stage, on camera, at events, and in developer communities.
• Consistent experience creating useful technical content for developers.
• Ability to build with LlamaParse and write working code in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Clear technical communication for both beginners and senior engineers.
• Working knowledge of LLMs, RAG, OCR, and document pipelines.
• Must be based in or willing to be in the San Francisco Bay Area for a hybrid schedule, with willingness to travel for events.

Nice to have

• Existing audience or reputation in the AI or developer community.
• Experience speaking at or organizing developer conferences and hackathons.
• Video production or livestreaming skills.
• Hands-on experience with document-heavy AI use cases.
