What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs for digital initiatives.
• Solve complex challenges within distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to enhance productivity and maintain high code quality.
• Mentor other engineers through direct guidance and thorough code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and architectural issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience in Java backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, REST API design, and microservice architectures.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, NoSQL, and Redis databases.
• Proven ability to design scalable systems spanning multiple services and products.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Location: Must be based in Porto, Portugal for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, Gradle, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Knowledge of event-driven messaging systems.
• Experience with contact center technologies (IVR, Virtual Agents, VoIP).
• Experience with AI development tools.
